Grow with DWO

May 2nd, 2008

Hello everyone,

Tomorrow is the big day!   Sally Skyler of Rochester, New York, will be giving a presentation about breast cancer from 10:00 AM to noon on Saturday, May 3rd at CCH I in Westerville.  (Come early for coffee, muffins, and chat!)  This is sure to be an interesting and informative workshop.  Click here for more details.

It was great to see so many new faces at the DWO General Meeting on April 12th!  We covered a lot of ground and learned a lot about what DWO has accomplished in the past year, from our events to our award from Deaf Women United to our plans for the future, like becoming a non-profit organization.  DWO is still young but it's growing nicely!

We'll be on a "break" for the summer in terms of events -- everyone is always so busy during the summer months.  We will be back in the fall with more informative, interesting, and fun stuff.

Miss last month's newsletter?  Our past newsletters are archived here.

April 7th, 2008

Hello everyone,

There are two big events coming up.  On Saturday, April 12th, we will have our annual General Meeting at CCH I.  We encourage you to attend -- it's a great way to get involved, learn what DWO has been up to in the past year, and what our plans are for the coming year.  Click here to get all the info.

Then on May 3rd we will be hosting the wonderful Sally Skyler of Rochester, New York, who will be giving a presentation about breast cancer.  This is sure to be an interesting and informative workshop.  Click here for more details.

We are always interested in your feedback.  A few people have told us that they would like to receive more emails about what is happening with DWO rather than checking the website themselves.  So we will now be sending out emails every month with a link to a new newsletter.  Look for it on May 1st and then the first day of the month from then on.  Some months there won't be any new information, some months there will be a lot!  But this way you will know that you are getting all of the latest information.  Our past newsletters will be archived here.

If you are not currently on our mailing list, please go here to sign up.  And tell all your friends, too!

See you at the general meeting!

Thanks,
The DWO Board

October 11th, 2007

Hello everyone,

Many things have been happening with DWO!   To start with, this is our first newsletter through our new system.  Now that we have it set up, you will be receiving updates more frequently.  If you have received the link for this newsletter at an address you do not check very often, or if you have a friend who would like to sign up for our notifications, please click here to sign up a new email address.

We have a whole bunch of events coming up!  To start off this year's "Knowledge is Power" series, Darlene Zangara will be presenting her well-received workshop, called "Faces of Change," on Saturday, October 20th, 2007.  Click here for further details.

That's not all, though!  We have many more events scheduled.  Click here to see more of what we have planned for you.  We will also be at the Ohio DEAFair on November 10th -- stop by and say hello!

In other news, this summer we were extremely honored to receive an award from National Deaf Women United for "outstanding services to the Community in Ohio."  Thank you, DWU!  (And thank you to Darlene Zangara for accepting the award on our behalf.)

Last but not least, we have a new logo!  You can see it on the home page and on the "about us" page, as well as slices of it on this page and a small version at the top of every page.  It was designed by Jenna Beacom.  Look for DWO merchandise to become available soon, especially for members!  Membership has many privileges -- check out some of them here.

And if you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us!

See you soon!

Thanks,
The DWO Board
